The Institute has received a research fund from the Korea Research Foundation in October 2001 that supports a 6 year research project entitled ¡®Fundamental and clinical studies applying east-west medicine to strengthen international competitiveness and to globalize Korean Oriental medicine.¡¯ The grant consisted of $230,000 from the government and $115,000 from Kyung Hee University in 2005. Professor Jin-Il Kim, director of this institute, is leading this project as a principle investigator.
Purposes of project : Purposes of this project were to (1) meet the school agenda in which 'research on East-West medical treatment to strengthen the international competitiveness of Korean Oriental medicine¡¯has been chosen as the promotion domain; (2) construct a collaborative research system between the Eastern and Western medicine; (3) globalize the resources of Korean Oriental medicine, and to (4) construct a information system to utilize knowledge in Korean Oriental medicine.
